5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Got Tapestries Free of Mothball Odor, Reviewer: Karin M. (Bangor)

I found a couple of old antique tapestries in my trunk and thought that I would use them. But unfortunately they smelt a lot of moth balls. I thought airing them out in the sun for a couple days would be enough. But that did not work out very well. The odor was still around on the tapestries and I figured I needed to do something else to do away with the moth ball smell. I bought and applied Smelleze® Eco Moth Ball Odor Eliminator Granules on the tapestries, covered with a bed sheet to limit the area it would work in, and left it to work for a week. Thankfully, majority of the vile odor was gone. Repeating this treatment for another week totally solved the problem and now I'm enjoying displaying the tapestries. I would recommend this product.

This is a fantastic deodorizer to use if you accidently placed mothballs in your crawl space to deter animals. All you have to do is sprinkle the Smelleze® Mothball Smell Removal Granules in the crawl space to stop the stink entering your house! I was amazed at the results and highly recommend using it if you made the same mistake I did.

5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Your Mothball Odor Eliminators Work Amazingly Well!, Reviewer: Mike (IL)

Sprinkled SMELLEZE Moth ball Odor Remover Granules outside in my yard because I have a crazy downstairs neighbor that insists on throwing entire boxes of mothballs on our lawn to "ward off snakes". The moth ball smell was so noxious I couldn't even use my porch. Even after we picked the moth balls up and reported them to authorities, the smell had leeched into the ground. The Smelleze granules helped the smell on day 1 and we haven't smelled moth balls since. (and the neighbor moved last week!) SMELLEZE works amazingly great! Thanks!

5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 Great Service & Moth Ball Eliminator Product!, Reviewer: Darlene (CA)

I am pleased with the IMTEK. Both moth ball odor removal products (SMELLEZE Deodorizer Pouches and SMELLEZE Deodorizer Granules) worked very well to eliminate moth ball smell in a camper that had had FIVE bowls of moth balls in it all winter (actually every winter). The company responded to my questions I had the same day and immediately shipped the pouch after ordering. Great service and product !

5 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 55 out of 5 SMELLEZE® Moth ball Deodorizer Pouches Really Do Work!, Reviewer: Angel from Virginia (Virginia)

My Testimony: God said in his word that Trails and Tribulations will come to test us to make us stronger in having faith to trust and believe in his goodness and mercy. When this happened to me I wanted to know why, but God was with me the entire time through it all and so was a compassionate man named P.G. at IMTEK. First, I had carpenter ants in my bathroom window. I called a exterminating company to come out to get rid of them and they did. But they also informed me that I had termites in my crawl space. The day that the pest control man came to my home to treat the termites he saw an 8 foot black snake in my crawl space, and he ran out of my crawl space in fear, as I heard him yelling, Oh my God....I am not doing this. The pest control man told me that he would go to Lowes to buy a couple boxes of moth balls, and throw them through out the crawl space and that this would chase this snake out of the crawl space, so I agreed. Well let me tell you, it did chase the snake away and ME TOO!

August is a very hot month in Virginia and 2 boxes of moth balls were way to many moths balls in a small area like an enclosed crawl space. I did my home work on the Internet and moth balls are a crystallized liquid gas called Naphthalene which is very toxic to human health. Naphthalene consist of carcinogens. I learned that the inhaling Naphthalene vapors and exposure from moth balls could cause Cancer. I did not desire to sleep in my home for 7 days. One evening when I came home from work, the vapors from the moth ball odor was so strong in the air as soon as I had opened the front door to my house, I had to grab a few things that I needed and left. I was literally forced to leave my home because of the toxic moth ball fumes. Because I had the knowledge of what I was dealing with, I had the pest control man come back out to my house to remove ALL the moth balls from the crawl space.

After all the moth balls were removed the smell still remained in the ground because of the liquid gas residue. I wanted to find out what I could do to get rid of the odor as quickly as possible. So I began my search for answers on the Internet again, and read the testimonies of other people from purchasing Smelleze® Mothball Deodorizer Pouches from a safe environmental company called Imtek. When I called to speak with someone at IMTEK, a compassionate man name P.G. was there to help answer all my questions with patience and kindness. SMELLEZE® MOTHBALL DEODORIZER POUCHES REALLY DO WORK!! Smelleze® along with patience and a lot of fresh air for ventilation eliminated the harmful mothball odor. I kept all windows in every room OPEN! I kept my crawl space door open too, with a small fan blowing continuously to draw the moth ball odor out. I did this for a month, is what it took for the moth ball smell to be completely gone. Once you gain control of getting your home back in order, you must CLEAN! Wash Everything! Wipe down kitchen cabinets inside and out with bleach and water. Re-wash your clothes, wipe out your shoes with 91% rubbing alcohol. Remain calm, don't lose control, because this too will pass and Smelleze® Mothball Deodorizer Pouches will help.

God Bless every one that experiences the chaos from the mis-use of moth balls. But you are not alone and you can get help from the knowledgeable odor and indoor air pollution experts at IMTEK. I would definitely recommend using SMELLEZE® Mothball Deodorizer Pouches to eliminate the toxic fumes from mothballs so your home can be safe again. Don’t expose yourself to the toxic cancer causing naphthalene fumes from moth balls!

DAN: I just bought a car and am having a hard time removing mothball odor. How would your product work for a car and should I use granules or powder. Thanks.

ANSWER: We have targeted products to cure your mothball malodor problem. Firstly, sprinkle SMELLEZE Eco Mothball Odor Elimination Powder on the carpets (and seats) and leave overnight to allow it to draw out the foul smelling gases. You can repeat this if necessary. Follow this treatment by placing SMELLEZE Reusable Mothball Smell Neutralization Pouches in the front and back area to continue to absorb the remaining mothball fumes outgassed from the headliner and sides. You can keep reusing the pouches until the mothball vapors have been completely removed.

JEANETTE: I have an old Lane cedar chest from the 1920's or 30's that smells like moth balls. How do I remove that smell and get back to it smelling like cedar again? I want to be sure it is usable before I spend time refinishing it. Hope you can help. Thank you so much!

ANSWER: This is a common problem with old chests when mothballs were used frequently. You can treat the old lane cedar chest with SMELLEZE Eco Mothball Odor Absorbing Crystals to restore it. Sprinkle the granules generously in the chest and allow it to draw the chemicals out for 5-7 days. If you can place it in the sun, the UV light and heat will enhance the process. Since the naphthalene has probably penetrated deep into the lane cedar chest over the many years of exposure to the moth ball vapors, you may have to repeat this process several times to restore it to its original state but your patience will pay off. You can also place a SMELLEZE Reusable Mothball Odor Block Pouch in the chest to accelerate the process and then keep it in the chest after refinishing it to protect it against any slight residual odors.

LAURA: My landlord recently placed mothballs under the house I am renting to try to control animals that have been living in the crawl space. I went under the house and collected all the mothballs (I think). But the bedroom that has access to the crawl space still stinks terribly. I think there were crushed mothballs placed at the entrance of the crawl space. I've put some untreated charcoal and continue to open the windows during the day but the smell intensifies when everything is closed at night. How do I try to get rid of the horrible smell. Thanks!

ANSWER: We are sorry to hear about your problem. It’s not uncommon that you can still smell the mothballs after you removed them because the vapors can be absorbed by the soil and other parts of your house. Firstly, I would recommend sprinkling SMELLEZE Eco Mothball Deodorizer Granules in the crawl space where the mothballs were. This will help you contain the problem and stop new fumes from entering the bedroom. Secondly, place SMELLEZE Reusable Mothball Deodorizer Pouches in the bedroom and any other area that is smelling to clean the air.

ERIKA: I have an old cedar chest that reeks of mothballs thanks to my dear grandmother's paranoia. I have let this chest sit open for a few months as well as spritzed the interior with cedar wood essential oil diluted in a water/rubbing alcohol mix. It seemed like this worked initially, but if the chest sits closed again for a long period, the odor collects inside as if I had not done anything. I'm about to try sealing the interior with urethane, but I came across your mothball odor remover and would like to try that first. So I am wondering if this product would work or if the smell is just too embedded in the wood to ever get rid of it.

ANSWER: The SMELLEZE Eco Mothball Odor Destroyer Granules will help you alleviate your problem. Sprinkle the granules generously in the chest and leave for a few days to allow it to pull out the naphthalene or para dichlorobenzene and then discard. If the chest was exposed to the mothballs for years, you may have to repeat this procedure a few times to get it all out. The chemicals close to the surface will be removed first as you might expect but those deeper down will have to migrate to the top before they can be removed to totally eliminate the problem. Thereafter, you can place a SMELLEZE Eco Mothball Odor Abatement Pouch to capture any residual fumes that are left when the chest is left in the closed position.

AMANDA: Some fool emptied 3 or 4 boxes of moth balls into holes made by squirrels on the outside of my house. I don't think it is possible to actually get them out. Will the Moth Ball Natural Odor Remover Granules work if I sprinkle them into the holes on top of the moth balls? Or do the moth balls have to be removed for this product to work?

ANSWER: These granules will certainly help in containing the fumes and odors released by the moth balls as they dissipate. If you can cover the mothballs and holes with SMELLEZE, it will give you the best results.

    Received: 02/17/2014

DON: Good Afternoon. I am interested in purchasing the Smelleze mothball fumes deodorizer. What is the difference between the granular’s and the powder and which would be best for carpet smell. Also, I have some interest in selling your products. What program would be best for an individual just getting started.

ANSWER: The powder is like the name describes and the granules are larger in size like coarse beach sand (about 1 mm in size). Since the powder has smaller particle size and is lighter, it is easier to vacuum and therefore better for use on a carpet or rug. You are welcome to resell our products. Please click on 'Sell' on the very top menu for info on the various distributor programs we have and chose the one most suitable for you.

DONALD: Good Afternoon. In the office that I work in a coworker spread come mothballs around to deter mice. Well I removed what I could find but the smell is still very strong especially when closed up overnight. I do not want to mask the odor. I need to get rid of it. Do you have anything that would work?

ANSWER: Yes, we have 2 products made especially to remove odors from moth balls. You can use the SMELLEZE Mothball Deodorizer Granules or Powder on floors or carpets respectively to draw out the chemicals and then simply vacuum to clean-up. In addition, you can place a SMELLEZE Mothball Deodorizer Pouch in areas with the mothball odor to capture it from the air.
