The PurAyre™ Ionic Air Purifier & Deodorizer uses state of the art electrostatic technology to continuously purify the air of harmful allergens such as dust mites, pollen, fungal spores, viruses, bacteria, mold, pet dander, smoke and more. It will trap particles as small as 1 micron and eliminate nasty odors instead of masking them with fragrances.

PurAyre™ works by putting a positive charge into the air and then attracting the contaminated air with two negatively charged stainless steel collection plates like a powerful magnet. The pollutants and allergens that are present in the contaminated air are trapped on the collection blades as they are drawn in. This results in clean purified air being released back into the room.

Installation Guide

Due to minor changes in design or other improvements, the product you buy may sometimes differ slightly from the product described herein. Please use the following instructions to use this product safely and effectively.

Operation

• Insert the collection blades through the opening on the top of the unit.
• Plug PurAyre™ into a standard 110/120V wall outlet for the US Model and into a 220/230V outlet for the EU Model.
• PurAyre™ will start working immediately.
• To use the LED night-light, simply turn on the switch on the side of the unit.

Cleaning & Maintenance

PurAyre™ Ionic Air Purifier & Deodorizer has particulate collection blades that should be removed for weekly cleaning and replaced with the second clean dry set as follows:

Step 1: Replace the Collection Blades:

• Unplug the unit.
• Slide the collection blades out from the top of the unit.
• Gently shake the unit back and forth several times to remove any hidden debris.
• Replace collection blades with the second set of clean dry collection blades. NEVER install wet collection blades.
• Plug the unit back in again to use.

Step 2: Clean the Dirty Collection Blades:

• Wipe the blades that you just removed on either side with a damp cloth or sponge.
• The collection blades can also be washed in dish washing detergent.
• Use a cotton swab soaked in alcohol to remove stubborn dirt.
• Let the collection blades dry completely for 24 hours and use them to replace the dirty collection blades in the unit the next time it requires cleaning.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance

• If you hear a slight static like sound when the unit is operating, it is due to moisture and is normal.
• If your PurAyre™ unit begins to make an excessive hissing or 'static' noise, the collection blades need to be cleaned.
• The collection blades will have to be cleaned more frequently if it is exposed to candles, oil lamps, fireplace soot, smoke or extremely dusty locations.
• Relocate the unit if it causes temporary interference with other electrical components (radio, computer, etc.).

Warnings

When using any electrical appliance like PurAyre™, basic precautions should be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or injury, including:

• Use unit only as described in this manual to minimize risk of shock, fire or injury.
• Inspect and clean the collection blades frequently to prevent excessive accumulation that may result in electrical flashover or risk of fire.
• Don't touch the internal collection blades or wires when unit is plugged in with your fingers or objects capable of conducting electricity.
• PurAyre™ is for indoor use only and operates at 110/120V AC for the US Model and 220/230V AC for the EU Model.
• Always unplug unit from outlet before cleaning or servicing.
• The exterior of this unit can be wiped clean using a damp cloth.
• Don't use PurAyre™ if the plug or unit appears to be damaged, not working properly, was left outdoors or dropped in water.
• Opening the unit could lead to serious damage to the unit and/or personal injury to the user and will void the warranty.
• Don't handle the unit or touch the plug with wet hands.
• Never use with extension cords. It is designed for wall outlet use only.
• All openings should be kept free of dust, lint, hair or other objects that reduce airflow Don't operate PurAyre™ if flammable or combustible products or vapors are present.
• This product is not a toy and not intended for use by children. For adult use only.
• This unit complies with the US requirements for low ozone emission of <0.075 ppm. Individuals who are concerned about ozone or with a history of respiratory disease, asthma, heart lung disease or breathing problems should consult with their physician to determine whether ionic air purifiers are appropriate for their specific health needs.

Read the instruction manual before attempting to use this product. This warranty only applies to the original purchaser of this product and is valid only in the United States and Canada. This warranty applies to repair or replacement if a product is found to be defective in material or workmanship. Defective product should be returned to the place of purchase in accordance with store policy with proof of date of purchase. Thereafter, while within the warranty period, any defective product should be returned to IMTEK with an explanation of the problem. This warranty does not apply to any damage resulting from commercial, abusive and/or unreasonable use or supplemental damage and does not cover damage resulting from unauthorized attempts to repair or from any use not in accordance with its manual. Defects as a result of normal wear and tear will not be considered manufacturing defects under this warranty. IMTEK is not liable for incidental or consequential damages of any nature regardless of the cause. Any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose on this product is limited to 30 days. Some states or jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you also may have other rights which vary from state to state or jurisdiction.
